Feedback and suggestions

The UNTERM portal has several feedback mechanisms that allow users to request new records or language equivalents, suggest changes to existing records and provide general feedback. Some of the feedback options are only available for logged-in users.

1. General technical feedback

Users can provide general technical feedback through the Contact Us menu at the top of the page. 

                                              

Clicking on Contact Us will take you to a new page with a Feedback form. Fill the form out, complete the captcha and click on Send Comment to submit your feedback to the terminology team and UNTERM portal Help Desk.

                       

                      *** Please note that you should not use the General Feedback form to send feedback on terminology or to request new records.***

2. Suggest a new record

Logged-in users can request new records through three entry points:

  • From eLUNa, click on the Terminology icon and select Suggest a record.
  • From any page, click on Contact Us to go to the Feedback page and click on the suggest new record link: 
  • From the Advanced home page, click on Request a new record under the Contact Us heading: 

You will be taken to the Entry Suggestion form to enter the term that you want to suggest. Provide as much information as possible when filling out the fields and select the Due date, which should be the delivery deadline for your job. If you don't need feedback on your suggestion by a specific date, leave the Due date field blank.

When you finish, click on send suggestion to submit your record request. You will be notified by the system when your suggestion has been acted upon.

For terminology producers, the suggestion will appear in the general Suggestions queue.

3. Request a language equivalent

To request a missing language equivalent from the search results list, click on the whistle under the language column of the target equivalent you would like to request.

                                           

To request a language equivalent from an open record, click on the Request button on top of the record and select the missing language you would like to request.

                                         

In both cases, a form will open. Fill it out, including a suggestion and source for the missing language equivalent, and click on Send. Make sure to includes your the Due date for your translation. If you don't need feedback from terminologists by a specific date, leave the Due date blank. 

                                                    

For terminology producers, the request for a language equivalent will appear in the Term/Title suggestion queue of the corresponding language.

4. Providing feedback on an existing entry

Open the record and click on the Provide feedback whistle in the upper-right corner. All the entries of the record will appear with a red border.                          

                                                                                

Click on the entry that you want to provide feedback on. A form will open. The first field "Current term/title" will already contain the entry you clicked on. Fill out the rest of the fields and click on Send. Make sure to includes your the Due date for your translation. If you don't need feedback from terminologists by a specific date, leave the Due date blank. 

                                                   

For terminology producers, the feedback on an existing entry will appear in the Term/Title suggestion queue of the corresponding language.
